
Al-Ahly of Egypt tied with its counterpart, Simba of Tanzania, 1-1, in the match that brought them together today, Tuesday, at Cairo Stadium in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the African League Championship.
Simba was able to create a surprise and take the lead over Al-Ahly through Sadio Kanote with a wonderful header goal in the 67th minute, taking advantage of the Al-Ahmar defense’s mistake in coverage.
Kahraba scored the equalizer for Al-Ahly in the 76th minute after a pass from Tunisian Ali Maaloul on the edge of the penalty area.
With this result, Al-Ahly team qualifies for the semi-finals to meet the winner of Sun Downs and Angola’s Petro Atletico, after tying with Simba with two goals for each team in the first leg held in Tanzania, and rising on the away goals difference.
