The Brazilian Ministry of Sports announced its bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027.
Brazil’s Minister of Sports, Andre Fuvoca, confirmed that his country had submitted a letter of intent to FIFA to host the Women’s World Cup in 2027.
Vuvouka added in an official statement: “I have submitted (the documents) to FIFA and the Brazilian Football Confederation on behalf of the president, and it includes Brazil’s desire to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the government guarantees required to request hosting the tournament.”
Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands submitted a joint application to host the tournament last April, while the other joint bid includes the United States and Mexico. While South Africa and Brazil submitted separate requests to organize the event.
It is noteworthy that the FIFA Congress will vote on choosing the host countries on May 17, 2024.
