
Yesterday, Monday, Nawal Al-Mutawakel was re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee, for an eight-year term, during the 141st session of the International Olympic Committee, which was held in New Delhi, India.
In addition to Al-Mutawakkil, the committee elected other members, such as Prince Albert II of Monaco (independent member), and His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg (independent member).
The session also approved the extension of the terms of two members of the International Olympic Committee for four years, namely Luis Mejía Oviedo (Dominican Republic) and Gerardo Verthen (Argentina), Prince Faisal Al Hussein (Jordan), and Kirsty Coventry (Zimbabwe).
It should be noted that India is hosting the International Olympic Committee session for the second time, after previously hosting the 86th session organized in 1983.
