
The President of the Algerian Football Federation, Walid Sadi, announced that his country has officially withdrawn from the race to host the finals of the African Cup of Nations, with its two editions scheduled for 2025 and 2027.
Algerian television revealed on Tuesday that the Football Association decided to withdraw from the competition to host the two editions, in light of reports confirming that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had decided to entrust their organization to Morocco and Senegal, respectively.
Algerian television, through its account on the social networking site “X,” quoted Walid Sadi, the new president of the Football Association, as saying, “Algeria officially withdraws its candidacy file to host the 2025 and 2027 African Cup of Nations.”
