Officially… the Atlas Lions are playing the African Cup in the coastal city of San Pedro

The draw for the African Cup finals in Côte d’Ivoire early next year resulted in the presence of the Atlas Lions in Group Six.

The Lions will be in Group Six, along with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, and Tanzania.

The Moroccan national team will play its group stage matches at the Laurent Poco Stadium in the coastal city of San Pedro, Cote d’Ivoire.

The city of San Pedro is one of the cities of Côte d’Ivoire, located in the Bas-Sassandra region, with a population of 131,800 people. The city is located next to the Tay National Park, a natural reserve for the pygmy hippopotamus, which is classified on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Laurent Poco Stadium is located in the city of San Pedor. The Laurent Poco Stadium was opened on June 3, 2022, and is considered a majestic facility and one of the architectural gems that the city is proud of.

On October 19, 2018, the foundation stone was laid for the stadium, with a construction cost of $76 million, and a capacity of 20,000 fans.
