Tunisian Ons Jabeur, ranked seventh in the world, won the title of the Chinese Ningbo 250 tennis tournament, which was held on hard court, by crushingly defeating promising Russian Diana Schneider 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday in the final.
This is the fifth title in Jabeur’s career, the second this year after Charleston of the United States, and the first on solid ground, after her journey ended at the quarter-finals of the 1000th Mexican tournament in Guadalajara, and before that at the first hurdle of the American tournament in San Diego.
Ons Jaber played the thirteenth final match in her professional career and the third this season after she was crowned champion of the Charleston tournament last April, and lost the Wimbledon Championship, the third of the four major tournaments, at the beginning of last July.
The most notable achievement of the 29-year-old Tunisian star is her runner-up at Wimbledon (2022 and 2023) and Flushing Meadows (2022).
