The Israeli Tennis Federation demands that Anas Jaber be “punished” because of her support for Palestine

The Israeli Tennis Federation called on the Women’s Tennis Association and the International Tennis Federation to take strict sanctions against Tunisian tennis star Ons Jabeur because of her stance in support of the Palestinian cause.
The president of the federation, Avi Peretz, considered that what Anas Jaber posted on her Instagram account constituted “support for a terrorist organization,” in reference to the Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas.”
Jaber expressed in several blog posts her support for the Palestinian cause, and also denounced the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
She wrote on Instagram: “What has happened to the Palestinians during the past 75 years is indescribable. Innocent civilians are being lost. No matter their religion or origin, violence will never bring peace. “I cannot stand for violence, but I cannot accept that there are people whose lands are being taken, so understanding the context is very important. When you see what is happening today and decide to ignore modern history, that is irresponsible and will not bring peace.”
She added: “Peace is all we care about, and peace is all that matters to us. It is the issue of all needs and benefits. Stop the violence and Palestine is free.”
