The league suspends a Moroccan referee who refused to shake hands with a foreign player in the amateur tournament

The Ethics Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation decided to suspend referee Mohamed Afif for five matches because he refused to shake hands with a foreign player.

The university’s statement stated that Mr. Mohamed Afif, a national referee in the Casablanca Regional League, was arrested for five matches, banned from entering football stadiums for the duration of this period, and fined 20,000 dirhams, for not shaking hands with Diaura Sekou, a player for the Kenitra club team, during the match. The latter brought together Olympic Youssoufia, for Round 2 of the National Amateur Championship, which was held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Dakhla Stadium in the city of Youssoufia.
