The “Daily Mail” newspaper said that the Saudi Al-Ittihad club is preparing to make a new offer of 200 million pounds sterling, (about 234 million euros), to sign Egyptian star Mohamed Salah from Liverpool.
According to the newspaper, a Saudi delegation arrived in London on Saturday. In a final attempt to convince Liverpool to sell Mohamed Salah.
But the message of Liverpool and its German coach, Jurgen Klopp, was clear: “Mohamed Salah is not for sale and he is happy in Liverpool.”
The newspaper pointed out that a bid of 150 million pounds was rejected last Thursday night.
However, the “Daily Mail” reported that the Saudi delegation will raise its offer to 200 million pounds within the next 48 hours, and the delegation believes that Salah will be open to a move to Al-Ittihad.
And if the deal is completed for 200 million pounds (about 234 million euros) or more, Mohamed Salah will become the most expensive player in football history, exceeding the cost of Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for 222 million euros in 2017.
