King Mohammed VI appointed, on Thursday, Faouzi Lakjaa, Minister Delegate in charge of Budget and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, as Chairman of the 2030 World Cup Committee.
The Royal Court statement stated that this appointment, which took place on the sidelines of the King’s reception of Al-Jajaa at the Royal Palace in Rabat, comes after the FIFA Council unanimously selected the Morocco-Spain-Portugal file as the sole candidate to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
On this occasion, the King expressed his “desire and will that the organization of this global competition be driven by a strong ambition carried by a project that will achieve great success for this edition.”
