World Cup 2030: 5 billion dirhams for the construction of the Grand Casablanca Stadium

Today, Friday, October 20, in Rabat, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch chaired the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement between the government and the Fund for Deposit and Management, to finance the rehabilitation program for 6 football stadiums, which were selected, by royal instructions, in Tangier, Casablanca, Rabat, Agadir, Marrakesh and Fez. As well as building a new stadium in the city of Benslimane

Under this agreement, the government will have completed providing various sources of funding for the rehabilitation and construction of the stadiums that will host the 2025 African Cup of Nations finals and the 2030 World Cup, where a budget of approximately 9.5 billion dirhams will be mobilized to implement investment projects related to the rehabilitation of these stadiums. Stadiums, in accordance with the standards of the Confederation of African Football, during the period from 2023 to 2025, to be followed by a second rehabilitation phase in line with the standards of the International Federation of Association Football, with a budget ranging between 4.5 and 6 billion dirhams, from the years 2025 to 2028.

The agreement signed between the government and the Deposit and Management Fund also included the construction of a new stadium in Benslimane (Casablanca-Settat region), with an investment budget estimated at 5 billion dirhams, in the period from 2025 to 2028.
